Tire manufacturer, BFGoodrich, knows a thing or two about performance driving. In fact, they’ve recently written about it. The Performance Driving Guide, written with the author of the acclaimed book, Speed Secrets, Ross Bentley, aims to make its readers better drivers and have faster laps around the track.
This isn’t BFG’s first driving guide. They’ve previously published the Off-Road Driving Guide, offering all sorts of tips and tricks for driving in the dirt. This new booklet is all about on-road driving and covers a host of topics from beginner to advanced tips.
A Great-Looking Guide With Great Info

Wearing a fittingly rubberized wrap-around cover, the Performance Driving Guide starts with a brief history of the company, then goes on to basic techniques. Where to place hands on the steering wheel, shifting, heel-toe movements, and other performance driving practices.
The 119-page spiral-bound booklet goes into loads of detail. From driver sensory information, to corner apexing, to how BFGoodrich collects data.
“Creating the new Performance Driving Guide has been a memorable experience for me and our team,” said T.J. Dennis, BFGoodrich Ultra High Performance Brand Manager. “Nearly ten years after launching the 4×4 Driving Guide, BFGoodrich is continuing its commitment to giving drivers the knowledge and confidence to pursue their passions. I’m proud of what we’ve built and excited to see how this guide empowers a new generation of performance‑minded drivers.”
How To Get A Copy

The booklet versions of the guide will be distributed at HyperFest in May. It will also be promoted at other events throughout the year. This includes Share the Ride, Skip Barber Racing School dealer training sessions, SCCA Track Night in America events, and select track days.
The digital version can be found in the driving tips section of the BFGoodrich Tires website under the “Tips & Advice” menu.
