I’m not sure there’s a better place to have a “Weird and Wacky” car show than Portland, Oregon. The “Keep Portland Weird” vibe was alive and well at the 2026 Avants Portland Weird and Wacky Car Show, held at Volvo shop, IPD, April 18, 2026.
Weird, Wacky, and Wonderful
From tiny microcars, such as a 1958 BMW Isetta, kei cars, such as a Honda Life Dunk, a mint-condition two-door Chevrolet Blazer, or a fire-shooting Gambler 500 vehicle, this car show has it all. Rare Ukrainian vehicles, hearses, JDM 4x4s, and Euro oddities all have a home at this event, now in its third iteration. Enough with the reading, here’s the video we put together.
We attended with our JDM 1998 Suzuki Jimny Wide this year—the first official showing of the trucklet at an event. In 2024, we showed up with our 1994 Mitsubishi Delica Space Gear. Perhaps we’ll take our Pajero next time. While it was cool and raining in ’24, it was sunny and glorious this year.
If you like unique, oddball, and one-off car creations, the Avants Portland Wierd and Wacky Car Show isn’t one to miss if you’re in the Pacific Northwest. So long as we’re in town, we’ll be attending.
