Until recently, the where was something missing in our Cherokee’s JCR Offroad Vanguard bumper: a winch. After all, what good is a winch bumper without a winch?
This week, I installed a WARN VR10-S into the bumper on The PDXJ, aka, Project Cherokee, aka “Cranky.” This is Warn’s latest winch in its standard-duty VR lineup. I’ll actually be using the vehicle in a Warn photoshoot for the VR10-S. After the photoshoot, I actually have a ZEON 8-S. to install and part of the company’s premium lineup. Don’t get me wrong, the VR is still a good winch, especially for the price point.
In case you were wondering, however, the new WARN VR series is redesigned with a removable control pack, waterproof contactor control (vs. solenoids), new styling, and is available in 8, 10, and 12,000 lb. capacities with either steel rope or synthetic rope. Frankly, I think it looks pretty good, especially on the black Cherokee.
More soon.
